Live at Other Music: St. Vincent (Episode #1)

Welcome to the premiere episode of Other Music’s new film series. We’ve been talking about this for some time and finally we’ve got the goods to show you! This is the very first in-store performance that we shot for the new series, during the 2007 CMJ convention, on Tuesday October 16. Annie Clark (as she says in the film, her super-hero name is St. Vincent) came by the shop for an intimate and intense solo performance of songs from her stunning Beggar’s Banquet debut Marry Me (plus a few surprises). Annie played a stark, stripped-down set with just her guitar and voice, and afterwards she gave us a relaxed interview about her brief history and her bright future. We hope you enjoy the film! We’ll be releasing a new piece featuring a new artist every couple of weeks for the foreseeable future (December/January release schedule below), as well as making the full concerts and interviews available. Also, check out some of Annie’s favorite artists on her top ten now posted on the charts page. Dim the lights…

Yeah, that was a briliant show and it was recorded very well. I wish they’d included her cover of “Dig A Pony”! It was amazing!
