The db’s Peter Holsapple and Chris Stamey follow up some recent well-received reunion shows with a new album of jangly, Byrdsian alt-country. The two guitarists wear their influences proudly over the course of fourteen tracks, echoing the crunchy electric guitar and sweet laziness of Neil Young melodies. Lavish, sprightly production, heavy with electric organs and slide guitar, winks “No Depression” at the listener the whole way through.
